LONDON (Reuters) – Britain’s competition regulator said on Friday it had secured important changes from Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) to tackle fake reviews, including to sanction UK businesses that have boosted their star ratings with fake or misleading reviews.

Google has also committed to put “warning” alerts on the profiles of British businesses that use fake reviews to boost their star ratings, the Competition and Markets Authority said in a statement.
