Trump taps Hassett to lead National Economic Council, source says

(Reuters) – U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is expected to name Kevin Hassett to lead the National Economic Council, a source briefed on the matter said on Tuesday.

Hassett served as the chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers during the first two years of Trump’s first term in office.

Hassett briefly returned to the White House in 2020 to serve as an economic adviser to help with response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
