Fortress eyes Seven & i’s supermarket operations, TV Tokyo says

TOKYO (Reuters) – Fortress Investment Group is considering buying an intermediate holding company that has the Ito-Yokado supermarket chain under its wing from Seven & i Holdings, TV Tokyo said on its website on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, Kyodo news agency reported that trading firm Sumitomo Corp is planning to take part in the first round of bidding for the shares of the intermediate holding firm.
