Egypt’s current account deficit at $5.9 billion in July-Sept 2024, central bank says

CAIRO (Reuters) – Egypt’s current account deficit totaled $5.9 billion in July-September 2024, compared with $2.8 billion in the same quarter a year earlier, the central bank said on Thursday.

Suez Canal revenues plummeted by 61.2% to reach $931.2 million in July-September, from $2.4 billion in the same period a year earlier.
