SANTIAGO (Reuters) – Copper production at Chile’s Codelco, the world’s largest producer of the metal, was “slightly higher” in 2024 when compared to the previous year, Chairman Maximo Pacheco said in an interview with a local newspaper on Monday.

In the interview with Diario Financiero, Pacheco said production had increased by some 3,000 to 4,000 metric tons and added that he expects the company to have binding offers for its Maricunga lithium project in the first quarter of 2025.
